On March 6, 2025, Team Phoenix celebrated a major victory for STEM education in New Hampshire with the successful passage of House Resolution 9 (HR9). Working in collaboration with New Hampshire State Representative Wendy Thomas, our team researched, drafted, and presented this resolution, which was designed to enhance STEM offerings in New Hampshire public schools. HR9 called for equality of opportunity for specialized STEM courses like robotics, programming, engineering, and advanced mathematics, aiming to better prepare students for the rapidly evolving job market in high-demand fields such as engineering, software development, and data science. The resolution’s passage marked a significant milestone in equipping students with the essential skills for success in the 21st century economy, allowing them to engage in hands-on learning and gain real-world experience in innovative fields. The resolution ensures that future generations have the same opportunities to learn and grow in STEM fields and will keep NH-trained talent here at home instead of losing them to out-of-state opportunities.
